A physician who has been where you are
Practice Catalyst was built on one belief: physicians should be able to own their practices without learning every hard lesson alone.
Why I started Practice Catalyst
I finished my internal medicine residency in 2018, and instead of taking an employed position, I opened my own practice: IM Clinic in Huntsville, Alabama. Nobody in residency taught me how to form an entity, get credentialed with Medicare and commercial payers, pick an EHR, set a fee schedule, sign a lease or hire a front desk. I figured it out one phone call, one denied claim and one late night at a time.
Years later, IM Clinic is still running and I'm still seeing patients there. Along the way, colleagues started calling me with the same questions I once had. How long does credentialing really take? Do I need a PLLC? What should I be charging? What did I forget?
Practice Catalyst is my answer to those calls. It's the partner I wish I'd had: someone who understands clinical life and the business behind it, and who does the work alongside you instead of handing you a binder.
How I work
- Peer to peer. I'm a fellow physician, not a suit. You'll get straight answers in plain language.
- Diagnose, then prescribe. Every engagement starts by understanding where you are. No one-size-fits-all package.
- Radical transparency. You'll know the scope, timeline and cost up front, and where things stand every week.
- End-to-end ownership. If something stalls, whether it's a payer application or a vendor, it's my problem to chase down, not yours.
Who I help
Residents and fellows who want to open a practice soon after training, and employed physicians ready to go independent. My focus is primary care and urgent care, where my clinical and operational experience runs deepest.
